Snap 23: The Study

Hi girls!

A couple of weeks ago I told you girls that I took a trip to Ikea to get some furniture for my dads new study! Well here is the finished (nearly!) room!

And yes he has filled up the bookshelf already! And yes that is beer bottles in the glass cabinet, he has loads of old beer bottles (unopened)! He collects strange things, hehe! We need to get a new door for between his office and the porch, which leads to the back door! I like the dark grey wood effect of all the furniture. The floor and walls go well with it! He just needs to get a computer and then put some painting up on the walls and its done!

My dad is also using this room as a place for him to paint. He has an easel propped up, which you can't see in the photo. He is a great artist! This is the reason the walls are an ivory colour, as he wants as much light in the room as possible for when he is painting. Even thought the furniture is quite dark, the room is still really bright.

Snap 6: Ikea Trip!

Hi girls!

Today's snap is a bit of a cheat (sorry), as this was taken last night! My dad, Robert and I went on a little Ikea shopping trip, to get some furniture for my dad's new study in our house. The house has been going through some big changes this past few months and we moved our kitchen into another room, which is larger and works better as the kitchen. So now my dad has claimed the old kitchen as his study/painting room (his paintings are amazing!!)/football watching room. Today the painting will all be finished, so we went to get him some furniture.

He picked this lovely grey wood colour for his desk and cabinets. Its going to go so nicely with the floor and the wall colour! I will try and get a photo of the study once its finished!

I love going to Ikea, its always such a fun thing to do. We get our dinner and then have a wander around looking at things we would like. Last night we were there for a while, as all of the furniture he wanted was not self service, so we had to wait for the staff to get all the furniture for us! We left with three full trolleys! Hehe! Does anyone else enjoy a shop around Ikea? I left with a new duvet cover for my bed! Yay!

Let me know if you are taking part with Sprinkle of Glitter too!

A Wednesday Of Pinterest!

Hi girls!!

So I am taking part this week again with the lovely Michelle from The Vintage Apple. I also just want to say Congrats to her on her new little boy who is going to be 2 weeks old tomorrow!! Awww, he is such a cutie!!

Anyway, back on to todays post, Oh How Pinteresting! I have a funny relationship with Pinterest, one day I will love it and want to just keep scrolling down and then another day I will not want to go near the site! Funny how these things happen? So today's post will just be a little bit of everything me thinks, seeing as today I am loving Pinterest! Yay!

All I can do is laugh!!! Haha!

So pretty, but I think they are a spider's best friend!! Hehe!

My Christmas Tree!!

Hi girls!!

Santa has an intruder in his light up sack....

So I finally got my tree up!! Yay! Last night I was just determined to put it up, when I got home I was searching around for the boxes and realised they were up in the loft. So then I searched around for the ladders to get up into the loft... No luck, Robert or my dad had taken them away to a site they have been working on. So when Robert came home he made me a ladder!!! It was so funny! He just said he had enough wood in his van (Robert is a joiner by the way!) and out he went and came back in with this huge wooden ladder!! Sadly I did not get a photo of it for you, but I thought it was so funny!! Robert then went up into the loft and brought me the boxes down! And yes we do have a tree that lives in a box all year round and gets let out at Christmas ie. a fake Christmas tree!

We have always had a fake tree, less mess and is just easier and also is cheaper because we don't need to buy a new tree every year! I love the one we have just now. Its one where you have to put the branches in one at a time! I have built it so many times now that it is easy and I do find it fun! So it begins like this....

Already under it!

A sneaky Alice trying to hide!

Tada! Tree is up and ready to decorate!

Lights on and it always has to be white lights!

Get out of my tree!!

Cream and Silver beads.

Then its onto the cream and gold ribbon, bows, flowers and other bits that just sit on the branches of the tree!

Here is the mixture of baubles we have, lots of single special baubles and then a variety of multiple ordinary baubles! As you can see our theme is golds, creams and reds!

The cats just love the tree!

And what goes on top of the tree I hear you ask?!

A fairy! Obviously we have to but a light up her skirt too! It would be rude not to!

And there is my tree! Yay!

Some of the ornaments and look one all the way from America (see this post)! Thanks Holly!!

A happy Flo beside her tree!

So what do you girls think?! Did I do a good job? I'm so glad I finally got to put it up! Have you put your tree up and done a post? Then link it below, because I would love to see it!
