100 Things That Make Me Happy! Part 5

Hello, how are you all?

Oh and a Happy Valentine's Day, whether you have someone to share the day with or not! I am now half way through my 100 things series! For the previous posts, click here. Firstly, is a little sentimental note.

41. Remembering good times with Grandparents now gone.

"Sometimes saying goodbye is hard, but when you know they are now at peace, it somehow doesn't seem so bad."

My Granpa and Gran on their wedding day in 1956.

My Granpa died on the 5th of February, his funeral was yesterday, the 13th of February. I know he will be so happy now that he is back with my Gran, who he has missed terribly. He will now be looking down on his daughter (my mum) and will be  so so proud of her, who was there taking care of him right until the end.

Three types of love right there (Husband to Wife, Father to Daughter and Daughter to Father), all are unconditional.... This is Valentine's Day after all, a day for all types of love.

The only Valentine's day card my Granpa ever gave was in 1958 and it was to his daughter who was not yet a month old, my mum. It is happy little things like this that help get you through.

42. Having a soul mate

43. Knowing you will grow old with some one
Robert and I, 3 and a half years ago! Look! I have long hair!

44. Romantic Films...

45. Hot Chocolate

46. Having Robert as an Encyclopedia! He knows everything!

47. Spending time with our nephew, Robbie!

48. Snowy Days

49. Taking photographs
50. Give Aways!
Today is the last day to enter!

And that's my 10 for this week! If you are doing something nice for Valentine's Day then enjoy it!

How Well Does Robert Know Me?!

Hi girls!! I saw this on a couple of blogs a while ago and thought it would be fun to do!! So sit back and read what  probably random things go through Robert's head!! Does he know me as well as he thinks he does?! We shall see, hehe!! I am going to type down the first thing he says!! So here we go....!

Q: She’s sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen?

Robert: The X Factor!

Jen: Well this was kind of an easy one, because it is on the tv now!! Hehe

Q: You’re out to eat, what kind of dressing does she get on her salad?

R: None! She doesn't eat salad!

J: Haha, this is a random question, because I don't eat or like salad (bad me!). I eat fruit salad though!!

Q: What is one food that she does not like?

R: Can I not just say the ones she does like?! It would be easier!!

J: Yea I am an extremely fussy eater people!!!

Q: You go out to eat and have a drink, what does she order?

R: Diet Coke! These questions are easy!!

J: Yup! Haha he says now!

Q: What size shoe does she wear?

R: Well sometimes Jen is a 5 and sometimes she is a 6. Depends on the type of shoe and where they are from!

J: Wow I am impressed!! Haha well done!

Q: If she was collecting anything, what would it be?

R: Cat whiskers!!! It's true!

J: Haha!! Queue hilarious laughter from me! I think this was the last answer I thought would come out his mouth! It is true though, I love finding the cats whiskers when they fall out. Cat owners... does anyone else do this and get really excited finding one? Strange I know... and I did used to have a little collection of my old cats whiskers. Not any more though!

Q: What is her favorite type of sandwich?

R: You don't really eat sandwiches.... the nearest thing would be a cheese toastie!

J: Yup you are right!

Q: What would she eat everyday if she could?

R: Dominos pizza!

J: Haha! well I do love them! Although would definitely not eat them everyday or else I would be the size of a house!!!

Q: What is her favourite cereal?

R: Honey Nut Cheerios!! It used to be Crunchy Nut, but not any more!

J: Well done you are correct!

Q: What’s her favorite music?

R: Music they play on Capital FM, you like modern music!

J: I love Capital FM!!

Q: What is her favourite sports team?

R: Rangers!!!! And not the New York Rangers or the Texas Rangers... The Glasgow Rangers Football Club!

J: Hehe!! He wants me to love Rangers and I tell him I do because he kids on that if I don't then it would be a deal breaker!! So I tell him I do! Hehe

Q: What is her eye colour?

R: You sort of have grey eyes.

J: This is a funny one because I don't really know the colour of them. They are really in between colour, quite murky, so I say they are grey. They probably are a mixture of blue and grey.

Ok so after both us looking at my eyes with a torch... Hehe! I now know that my eyes are definitely like a silvery grey/light blue! Nice!

Q: Who is her best friend?

R: Me!!!

J: Awww this is very true! You are my best friend! I think the question was more asking for a girl best friend, but this answer was so cute!

Q: What is something you do that she wishes you wouldn't?

R: Make a mess of her room... I leave all my clothes everywhere!

J: Haha! Yes this is very true! Please tidy them up!

Q: What is her heritage/where she is from?

R: Rottenroe Hospital, Clarkston, Newton Mearns.... Your dad is half English, half Scottish and your mum is Scottish and you have a bit of French in there too!

J: Hehe! Yes very well done Robert!

Q: You bake her a cake for her birthday, what kind of cake is it?

R: I would make you a giant cupcake, which would be...... No wait can I change my mind?! I would make her a giant choclate chip cookie!!

J: Ok first off I wish Robert would make me a cake!!!! Haha, well I would mind either! I do like cakes and I love cookies!!!

Q: Did she play any sports?

R: Horse Riding.

J: I love horse riding! I need to go more!!

Q: What could she spend hours doing?

R: Doing her blog!

J: Yea very true, I could also spend hours watching Youtube!!

Q: What is one unique talent she has?

R: That thing you do with your tongue! Oh and also being able to put your whole hand on the floor when bending over with your knees together!

J: Ok Robert is talking about me being able to roll my tongue into 3 seperate rolls.... if you get me! Lots of people can roll their tongue, well I can do that three times to my tongue at once! It sounds strange, but looks really cool! Well the idea is that you can touch the floor when you bend over... well I can put my whole palm on the floor! I must be bendy!! Probably quite a lot of people can do this too! Let me know if you can do either of these!!! I would love to know!

Hehe! Yay we are finished! He did very well! I guess thats what 4 years together does to you! Well done Robert You get a gold star!!!!!

And if you reached the end of this post and read it all then you deserve a gold star too!! Hehe a long post today!! Hope you enjoyed reading and no doubt had a giggle!

Oh The Places We Have Been!

So following on from Monday's post, I thought I would share with you the places Robert and I have been together! We have had loads of exciting times travelling around and plenty more to come!!

First up I shall just say as we live in good old Scotland, we have travelled the length and breadth of the country, which is always fun. We love visiting Edinburgh and the surrounding area to visit the Deep Sea World. One of my most favourite and very early trips was to go up North and see the snow!! We had the most fun ever!

On November the 5th 2008, Robert and I decided that we just wanted to get away and go somewhere. Now we hadn't even been going out a month by this point, so we kind of had to make up a story to my mum and dad about where I was going!! So any way Robert and I decided we would drive down to  Liverpool! It was just gorgeous there and we went to the Beatles museum, which was a laugh! We then went over to Manchester and had a wee drive around and then went to the Trafford Centre. Now to this day to me that shopping centre is like Disneyland for shopping! It is just amazing! The next day we went to Old Trafford and took the tour, it was quite good! I think this trip made us fall in love, even though it was very very early on in the relationship. It wasn't long after this that we said it for the first time!

After that trip, we have taken so many random trips down to England! So in order, we have been to Newcastle, London, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Manchester again, York, London for my 21st Birthday, London to get my car, Manchester and then London again for The Olympics!!

Our first trip abroad together was actually with our uni course and the took us to Finland, we had been together a year! It was a trip that could have broke our relationship mind you because we kept having silly arguments! On the last day Robert and I took a train to Helsinki and had an amazing time, so that made up for the week! The uni took us to all sorts of places though and it was really interesting and fun! Although I did not like the food at all!

We took a random trip down to Belgium and went to Brussels and Brugge, which we really beautiful places! On the way back up, this is when we went to Birmingham, Manchester and York!

The summer after this we went to Palma for a week away in the sun! I was very much needed and we had a great time lounging around the pool and strolls around the city! We basically gorged out on ice cream, cheese toasties and chips, maybe not the best, but it was yummy!! Hehe!

Then came our big trip! In January of this year Robert and I went on an awesome adventure to New York, Hawaii and Las Vegas! We had the most amazing time! Please click the links to the posts I did about our trip!

New York Day 1New York Day 2New York Day 3Hawaii Part 1Hawaii Part 2 and Las Vegas! Be prepared for lots of pictures and lots of reading! We had such an amazing time! Honestly I would recommend Hawaii to anyone!!

Then in April we got to go to Madrid! I also did a post on our trip here!

I hope you enjoy the readathon I just set you up with!! Hehe, enjoy!!! Have you been to any of these places? Let me know where you have been recently!

Without Wax

Hi girls! No this is not a post about me not having any candles to burn, which is actually true by the way! Sad face, but anyway this post is connected to yesterday's post. You might have picked up on the fact that when I am writing about Robert if I type "I love you" into the post it is always ended by "without wax". I think this is a part of Robert and I's relationship that means so much and that is Robert's attention to detail (all be it only sometimes!). When he picks up on something it shocks me at times in a good way though!

Courtesy of weheartit.com!

Robert and I love the Dan Brown books, you know The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons etc. Well when he had finished reading Digital Fortress (well over 3 years ago now!), he all of a sudden started to use the phrase "I love you without wax". So I had to read the book again to understand what he was on about!

You may have missed it when you read the book, so if you did or you have not read it then there is basically a love story within this book, which is most definitely not the main theme of the book though. Throughout the book the main female receives faxes signed "without wax" from her boyfriend, which is the only code she cannot break and deos not understand what it means. The boyfriend does not want to tell her, but for the readers sake Dan Brown allows us to know! Here is a extract:
But David knew he would never tell. The secret behind “without wax” was too sweet. Its origins were ancient. During the Renaissance, Spanish sculptors who made mistakes while carving expensive marble often patched their flaws with cera—“wax.” A statue that had no flaws and required no patching was hailed as a “sculpture sincera” or a “sculpture without wax.” The phrase eventually came to mean anything honest or true. The English word “sincere” evolved from the Spanish sincera—“without wax.” David’s secret code was no great mystery—he was simply signing his letters “Sincerely.” Somehow he suspected Susan would not be amused.

In basic terms, when he writes "I love you without wax", it means that the love is without any flaws and is perfect. So cute right?! Robert and I still use the saying to this day and I think it will always be something we say to one another! Its the little things that make it special don't you think?!

I cannot wait to get to spend the rest of my life with this completely amazing man! He is oh so very good to me! Love you without wax!

If you have not read Digital Fortress then I suggest you do. It is a brilliant book and a good one if you love to get your brain going while reading! Click here if you want to have a little read before buying! Click look inside this book!

Oh also do you have any of these little sayings between you and your boyfriend/husband?

Four Amazing Years!

Hi girls! So yesterday was a very special day for Robert and I... Four years together, which have been the best four years of my life! Obviously there have been good times, a few little bad times, some hard times, but most of all amazing times!!! I feel we are so lucky to have found each other, as we are like two peas in a pod!

Our first picture together! We were not actually going out at this point, but I know Robert would have been thinking about it! Haha! We were at an under 21 football game with two other people from our course at university, which is how we met! We started talking on the first day, as everyone did, getting to know everyone. I didn't see him a lot for our first week of uni, because we were put into separate groups for our fresher week assignment. The second week was where, I guess things started to happen. I got chatting to him a bit more, we went to the football game after uni in his new car, which my friend and I nicknamed Percy on the way there and is still called Percy to this day! I'm sure it was the Wednesday of that second week, we had walked down to the train station in Glasgow and I was getting the bus home and we were just saying bye and he gave me this wink and then wandered off to get his train. My tummy went crazy!! Butterflies fluttering around and around!! Haha, I went home on the bus with a big smile on my face!! I also think it is a moment that I won't ever forget!

The next day he took me out and we went to the Glasgow Science Centre, we both kind of knew it was a date, but I don't think it was every mentioned. We had a really fun day. I don't think I had ever met anybody like him before, he was so interesting and knew so much! I knew that I really liked him and wanted to be more than his friend. That weekend I went away to Edinburgh with my parents and family friends. I had a good time, but to be honest I just wanted to go and spend time with Robert! I was texting him constantly!!I met up with him on the Sunday night when I got home. Then also met up with him on the Monday too! Our first year at uni we only had classes Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, in case you were wondering! As we lived so close by, Robert started to give me a lift to uni and back everyday and we would sit beside each other in classes and also seeing each other everyday. So after four weeks of uni, we decided that we wanted to be boyfriend and girlfriend. There was no messing about, we both knew what we wanted and got it!

Four years ago those photos were taken!! Quite scary how time flies! After four years Robert and I are desperate to buy a house of our own and I can't wait for him to propose!! Hehe! We have been through a lot and we have both grown together. I was only 18 when I met him and Robert was 23! We know each other so well and understand each other. I know completely that I meant to be with Robert for ever and I know Robert feels the exact same. When we are apart we don't feel right and when we are together we feel settled and happy. I love how all throughout our relationship there has been no messing about, we always know when each other is not happy and correct it. He is my absolute world and I couldn't be without him! I am so so lucky to have found the man of my dreams! I love you without wax for ever Robert!

Have you found the love of your life? I would love to hear your stories!!

Love, Jen x
