My New Car!!

Hi guys!

I passed my driving test in February 2009 (first time I might add! Hehe). So I just drove my mums car when I needed to and then in January 2010 I got insured for Robert's (my boyfriend) car, which is a three door 05 plate Ford Focus. I have to tell you now that I love cars!! I think people should take pride in their cars and I hate seeing people smoking in them and just generally driving a dirty bashed up car! So after two years of being able to drive Robert's car all the time as he has got a van as well which he drove most of the time, I thought it was about time to get my own car! Now that I can afford to buy one myself!! Now when I decide something like this it is going to happen, I can be very impulsive and I just go with my gut!

So I wasn't really sure what kind of car I wanted to get, but I am definitely not the kind of girl who likes the wee silly city cars, such as the Ka or C1. I do tend to drive fast and I like to get from A to B quickly, I will say however that I'm a very good driver and I know how to drive, unlike a lot of other drivers on the road!! So I decided I wanted to get the Ford Fiesta Zetec S, which is the 1.6 version of the normal fiesta, I guess because I was used to driving a 1.6 in the Focus and also because it was smaller it would be faster than that! Hehe, so after looking in Autotrader for days and trying to find the right age and price, I found my car.... in London! So yea as I live in Glasgow it was a tad far away!! However this did not put me off, oh no, Robert and I love going on adventures and long drives away.

After speaking to the  Ford car dealer where it was located, I arranged to come down and see it and then basically buy it as well!! I know Ford are one of the best kind of cars to have, as they are extremely reliable and very well made. We booked a flight from Glasgow to Gatwick airport as this was the nearest airport to the car! We then had to get two trains to get to Tonbidge, which is a very nice wee town, where the car dealer was. I was so excited! Seriously excited! My first car and it was such an awesome car to have! We took it for a test drive and after signing all the paper work and paying for it up front, it was all mine!! The car cost me £7,500, which is extremely good for an 09 plate in amazing condition with only 30,000 miles on the clock. I got a loan of £5,000, which I can pay back in 3 years so that brilliant and then my dad paid the rest fro my birthday, which was sooo generous of him! So  I called my new car Jenson, as he is super speedy like Jenson Button and he also is the same colour as his helmet! The car was absolutely brilliant!!! We left the dealership at half 1 and got home at half 9 so 8 hours with 3 stops is great! Jenson did 90mph most of the way back and didn't flinch once! He gets 40 mile to the galleon which  again is amazing! Here are some pics of our adventure!

I am so pleased with it!! He is an absolute cracker, I have had him for 2 months now and he's my pride and joy! I love driving, but he makes me want to do it more!

Meet the Cats!!!

Hiya guys!

So I really wanted to do a post on my little babies!! My cats mean the absolute world to me and I love them to pieces! Just now I have two 1 year old sisters, but they are totally different to eachother in looks and personality!

Firstly though I just wanted to mention my absolute princess Jess, who I mentioned in my last post. I got her from the Cat Protection when she was 12 weeks old, which is a charity for cats! She died on the 5th of February 2011. She had a really rare form of anaemia, which made her so weak, and she died at the age of 7 which is really young for a cat. It was terrible because the vet didn't actually tell me that she could die, even though she really did look very very poorly. I spent so much money at the vets trying to get her better and I would have paid anything at all to get her better, but unfortuantely she lost the fight. It was horrible as well because the day she died I was at work, I will always remember the last time I saw her and she was just lying in her bed watching me go down the stairs and I remember saying to her to hang in there and I will see her soon and she just looked at me and gave me a wee quiet miaow and at the time I just thought awww wee pet, but the next day I thought about it and I knew that she was saying goodbye to me.

When I got home from work I saw her travel box in the hall, which is not normally there, so I knew that something was wrong. I ran into the living room and screamed "where is she?!" because I think i kind of knew already. My mum and dad told me that she had died. My dad had got home and Jess had been sick and done the toilet in her bed and miaowed at my dad and he knew that he needed to get her to the vet. He went to the emergency vet in the city centre and all the way there he could here her moving and breathing, but when he got to the vets I think she had just given up the fight. I was absolutely devasted, honestly that wee cat was my complete world and I couldn't have imagined her not being there anymore. Jess was always following me about, sleeping with me and she was just my baby!! I stayed awake that whole night, I didn't want to sleep, because then it would be the next day and it would kind of be more real as to what  had happened. She wasn't well for a couple of months so I guess that her time had come and she couldn't fight it any more. Here are some photos of her!

Ok so I just had to put pictures up of Jess because she will always be my little precious princess and I have her ashes on my desk and I will take her with me when I move out. It may seem strange, but I feel like I have to! I will move on now to the girls that I have now though! I got Flo and Alice about two months after Jess died and I had to get two because one would not have filled the space that Jess left!!

So Alice is exactly like what her mum was like, she is a slender all black cat. She likes night time cuddles, loves catching flies and watching birds from the window and cackling at them!! Hehe if you have a cat you will know what I mean!! Flo is a chunky tabby and white cat! She adores her food, morning cuddles and sleeping in the sun! The cats don't go outside as yet because I'm moving out from my parents soon and I don't want them to be used to going out and then not being able to go out when I move!  I do however take them out on a lead!! You may think this is mad and but they do enjoy a walk around the garden sniffing around and they walk really well in their harnesses!!I will put some pictures below!

Cute wee kittens!!

On their leads :)

In their beds!!

Catching a fly!

So there you go! I would love to get another wee kitten! But I'm not sure if three is too much!? Hehe hope you liked my little babies!!

Hair: Now and Then

So this is just a wee random post! It will be a wee short one I promise!!!

All my life I have had long long hair! If you have been looking at my blog then you will have noticed that my hair is not long at all, but is very short! Ooo also my hair is completely naturally blonde, no dye in this hair!! So this was me before I got it cut:
My hair down (above and below)

This is me with my hair up (which I did most of the time!)

This was because in February 2011 I decided to get it all cut. There was a couple of reasons why I got my hair cut so short and one was because I really really needed a change! All I did with my hair was tie it up in a ponytail, because when it was down it would really annoy my skin and also because I could never manage to get it to sit the way I wanted or ever make it straight!!! The second reason was because I totally loved Frankie Sandford's hairstyle, I thought it looked so nice on her so I gave it a try!! There is also a third reason and it was that I was in quite a bad place, I felt sad all the time and like I wasn't doing anything with my life. My precious wee cat (in the top picture with me) had also died on the 5th of February too which was totally devastating to me!! I was heartbroken (but more about her in my next post!).

So I desperately needed a change and this was what I decided on:

So this was me just after I got it cut! Big change!!!

And this is me in March!

I do really like my hair and it did take a while to get used to it! I think it took Robert ages to get used to my hair because he did love my long hair, but he obviously let me cut it as it was something I wanted and felt I needed to do. I am however growing my hair, I would love to have long hair again and I know it will take a while for me to actually have long hair again, I would quite like it back!! I don't regret getting my hair cut because it had to be done in my eyes and I'm glad I did it. I am however thinking I will get clip hair extensions. This is obviously something I have never had before, but they would be to wear only sometimes or for special occasions.

If any one knows a good brand I could try let me know! Also if anyone has any good tips then also leave a comment! Oooo also please let me know if you think I suited my hair when it was longer or if you think it looks better now!!

I did always say when I was younger that I would never cut my hair short as it was my complete pride and joy!! Haha but I guess things change!

Hmm the post didn't turn out that short after all!! Hehe!! Thanks for reading! :D

America Haul!

Hello!

So I was going to let you all know what I bought when I was away in America! I bought quite a lot, which I guess is to be expected! So there will be pictures of what I bought and then I will let you know where I bought them from!

First of all, New York:

  • a Fossil Watch. I have had my eye on one of these for ages and I do love Fossil! You also get to pick your own box to put the watch in, which are all quite vintage looking so that a nice touch! My watch had to have a bit of pink in it and also had to be silver because I never wear anything gold!

  • I had to go into the Disney Store!! I bought two of the little cuddly toys - Stitch from Lilo and Stitch, who I absolutely love (and was so excited to go to Hawaii as thats where its based!) and Wheezy the penguin from Toy Story, just because Robert and I have a wee joke with penguins! I also got a big lollipop and a Cars suit for our nephew, who was just going to turn 2 when we got back from our holiday, so it was for his birthday!
  • I also got some Nerds sweets, which I love and I have no idea why! I got these from Toys R Us which is just such a HUGE store!! It is so cool and has a ferris wheel in it! Robert and I are really just big kids so we love all that sort of stuff! Oh and I didn't buy the huge box in the photo below! Haha
  • We then obviously had to go to the M&Ms store and Robert filled his bag up soo much! He loves chocolate! Hehe

  • I also got an amazing hoody from Abercrombie & Fitch, which you would have seen me wearing in Las Vegas. It is faux fur lined in side and around the hood with a zip and is so cosy and warm! I wear it all the time!
  • I also bought two things from Hollister, one was a pink and white striped t shirt, which I wore in Hawaii and also bought a pair of pink banded sweatpants just to wear around the house, which are really comfy!

Now onto Hawaii:
  • The first thing I bought was a Tiffany necklace!! Now I did want to go to the famous store when we were in New York, but some how we must of walked right past it! I did go into the Wall Street store, but didn't buy anything. I was so pleased with my Tiffany necklace!!

  • I needed to buy some more tops and I went a bit far and bought five (!!) new t-shirts, 3 from Crazy Shirt and 2 from Roxy. I was quite pleased with them as they are very comfy to wear and easy to wash! The top row are the ones from Crazy Shirt and the bottom row are from Roxy.

  • I also bought two Pandora charms, one for my mum and one for me! I got the turtle charm and I got my mum a leaf that curls all the way round the bracelet. I am going to do a post on my Pandora bracelet in a later post, so you will see the turtle then!
  • I also got some nic nac type things! I bought a nail file, a mirror, a keyring and 4 pretty flower leis (the flower neck garland thingies!) in lots of pretty colours!
  • I also went a bit mad in Sephora! I absolutely  LOVE Benefit make up and I just thought I would top up my collection as it was slightly cheaper in Waikiki than it was back home! So I splurged on Stay Don't Stray eye primer, Posie Tint, which I love on my lips, Hello Flawless powder, Some Kinda Gorgeous Foundation and I also got Sun Beam, which actually only just came out in the UK the beginning of May, so I felt sooo lucky getting it when I did and its awesome! I also had a look at the Nails Inc stand too and oh my goodness, they were really cheap!! I don't know if it was because Nails Inc are new in America or what but I got two colours for $9 each! They are usually £11 in Britain for the normal colours, so thats quite a good saving if you think of the exchange rate and all that!! So I picked up Lanesborough Place, which is a light gold colour and has this liquid gold effect on the nails, apparently it is also a special edition, but it doesn't say it on my bottle! I also bought Connaught Square, which is a Special Effects 3D glitter polish, it has royal blue glitter with a smattering of purple glitter through it too and its gorgeous!
  • So I then decided I was just going to go for it and buy a pair of Ugg Boots!! I always said to myself that I didn't ever want to get a pair, but I gave in!! Hehe and I'm so glad that I did!! They are super comfy and keep your feet roasty toasty!! I have worn them nearly every day since!! I bought  the grey colour as I don't like wearing black and I hardly ever wear anything brown or tan, so they wouldn't have went with my wardrobe. I also got the tall length because I am 5ft7, so the short ones didn't look right on me!

I never really bought anything in Las Vegas actually! I was too busy being in awe of the place probably. Although the shops were amazing!!! I think we were just too busy rushing around trying to see things! Although I did buy a novelty Caesars Palace dice! Ha

Hope you enjoyed my haul post.

Viva Las Vegas!!

Onto Las Vegas now, the final leg of our trip!

There was a big palava with our flights from Hawaii to Las Vegas as they wanted us to get three flights!! I was like no way is that happening, as they wanted us to go from Honolulu to LA, then from LA to San Francisco and then from SF to Las Vegas. To me this was just completely absurd, so thankfully we got a very nice lady at Honolulu airport that cut out us going to LA completely and just went straight from Hawaii to SF! I'm always very scared for my suitcase on flights as well because I'm completely terrified they will lose it!! So the three flights was just too much for me and my case!! Hehe, in SF from the plane landing and the next one taking off we were literally on the ground for half an hour at the most and it went really fast! Thankfully the gate we had to get to was just across from the gate we just left! So this was a quick scoot over and then get into another queue!

When we landed in Las Vegas, it was everything I had expected and more!! People had said to me that everything is right in your face and very opulent and it was! I couldn't believe the size of the hotels!!! We were staying in Caesars Palace, which we were really excited about! We were so tired from all the travelling and we were attempting to talk away to the man at the reception and he decided to give us an upgrade! Oooo i have no idea why he did this, whether he just thought we were nice or extremely tired and needed a good sleep (which we did!) or if he thought we were on our honeymoon (which we weren't by the way!!), but we were so excited! Haha so we got put up in one of their brand new rooms, in the Octavius Tower, which had just opened on the 1st of January! He said it usually cost $500 per night! So going up the elevator was rather exciting and everything is absolutely top quality in this hotel by the way, it was amazing! When we got to our floor, the doors to the rooms were like soo far apart! Our room was right at the end too, so it felt like forever walking along it! When we got in, the room didn't disappoint my excitement!! It was excellent and the bed was humongous, I could have got lost in it!!

In Las Vegas we had the night we arrived and then two more days to explore! I already knew before I arrived that this was no way going to be enough time!! So on the first night we had a look around Caesars Palace and also went into the Bellagio hotel and watched the fountains. I honestly can't believe how big the Forum shopping mall was!! It's bigger than any of the shopping centres in Glasgow (which aren't small at all!). It just seems so unreal, but I guess that's what its all about!

So the next day, we went to Serendipity 3 for our lunch! Oh my goodness the food is awesome! Although the deserts are even BETTER!!! They have a frozen hot chocolate, which I think is famous! Haha and is so scrummy! Yum!! We then went over to the Venetian and went into Madame Tussaud's, which was fun. While in the Venetian, we booked to go see a show and it was one that I was super excited about and I have always wanted to go to. It was Penn and Teller, whom I love and think their "magic" is great (they themselves told us that they do not do magic!)!! So before the show we watched the Mirage Volcano erupt and then went over to the Rio Hotel! We got there a while before the show started and we went and bought these alcoholic slush puppies and they were so cool!! They had all these different flavours, so definitely worth a try if you go to the Rio. They are probably in other places too, but not sure where! Penn and Teller were just absolutely brilliant!! They were absolutely hilarious and involved the audience in what they were doing. Their tricks are completely mind blowing and you wonder how on earth did they do that?! Very worthwhile going to see them if your going to Vegas! Highly recommend it!

Sadly on our last day in Vegas, I wasn't very well! I had to spend the day in bed, which meant american tv and all their crazy adverts!! It also meant that poor Robert had to go and fetch me food and also have a wee explore himself! So yea I was very disappointed at not getting to see the rest of what we never saw!! I am desperate to go back to Las Vegas because of this!

Here are some pictures of our time in Las Vegas!

So yea no photos from the last day I'm afraid! Hehe we had to get up super early though on the Wednesday, as we had two flights to take that day! Now, I actually don't remember much about being back in Las Vegas airport, whether it was because I was so tired or because I'm getting confused with all the other airports I don't know! Hehe but I do remember being back in Newark airport, because we landed there around 2.30pm and then our plane back to Glasgow wasn't until 7pm!! So we had a lot of time to waste! We went and got something to eat, had a wander around and then just got comfy and I read my Kindle that Robert had got me for Christmas! I must say that it came in extremely handy on this trip!! I was so glad to be going back on this plane because it was the one with the touch screen tv's that you could watch loads of movie's on! So that would keep me entertained going back to Glasgow. However I probably should have been sleeping though, because it was 8am the next day that we arrived!! I slept that whole day and then part of the next day too!! I was so tired form our mental, but completely amazing and unforgettable holiday!!

I hope you enjoyed reading about our trip! I was going to do a haul of what I bought when away next! :D
