Bye Bye 2012!

Happy New Year!!

Well hello 2013!!! You will have to be pretty amazing if you are going to beat what 2012 had in store for me!

I started 2012 off with a huge bang! Robert and I went on an amazing holiday starting off in New York City, travelling all the way over to Hawaii and then ending the holiday in Las Vegas!!

Click the links for my New York posts! Day 1Day 2Day 3

Click for my Hawaii posts! Part 1Part 2

Click here for my Las Vegas post!

A month after our holiday I was able to buy my very own car Jenson. Robert and I then went to Madrid for a long weekend over my Birthday, as I had bought Robert Real Madrid tickets for his Christmas. I then started Its a Blondes Life on the 26th of April!! My blog has had an amazing 2012! and 2013 is going to be even better for my little blog!

June was quite a busy wee month with the Olympic Torch Relay passing through my area and also Robert graduating, which was a great day! I started off July with my very first and only (so far!) give away on my blog! Then the Olympics happened!! Robert and I were lucky enough to go to five events!! It was unbelievable!

October saw Robert and I celebrate four years together! In November, it was my turn to graduate! I then took part in two Christmassy blog swaps, one was an ornament swap and the other was a secret santa! Then I had an amazing Christmas and then end of the year was here!! So yes 2012 was definitely so far the best year of my life! It will be very hard to beat!

So what do you have in store for me so far 2013? Well we have another amazing holiday booked at the ed of February! San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and then Las Vegas again! Road trip this time, so it is going to be awesome!! Then in May we are finally going to the Harry Potter Warner Brother Studios!! At last!! In June we have the Formula One at Silverstone, which will be so exciting! And then who knows for the rest of the year! Hopefully buy a flat?! Also when Its a Blondes Life reaches 150 followers there will be a give away!!! Boom!

Hello 2013!

Spending Ban Update! #1

Hi girls!!

So as I'm one month into my 6 month spending ban, I thought I would let you all know how I'm doing!! If you want to see where this all started from then click here to see my rules and the reason behind the ban etc!

Well for this month, I would have done very well if it wasn't for the Olympics!!! Man oh man, that was a lot of money spent and probably most on getting there! Who knew fish and chips would cost £8.50 and a bottle of Diet Coke would cost £2.30!!!! Yea a lot of money was spent on juice!!! It wasn't very good in that respect, because it wasn't as if you could bring your own juice in either!! Although you could get free water from fountains, but then who would wait in a humongous queue for water?! So yea the Olympics, I think completely swiped a huge amount of money from both me and Robert. So in that respect, this month didn't go to well in the whole saving money front. I will say though when we weren't at the Olympics, I haven't spent as much as I used to! I feel as if I followed all the rules that I created for myself last month, the only things I have bought have been my Gilly Hicks clothes, which were allowed as I was on holiday, and then uniform for the shop I work in, which is also allowed!

The only thing that I still need to cut out on is food. I still feel as if Robert and I are spending a lot of money on food, and this is proving to be a very hard habit to beat!!! We eat out all the time and it's not very good for us health wise or money wise!! We are bad!!! We do like takeaways and goodness knows how I stay so slim!! SO this is the only thing that needs sorting! Then I will be able to save much better! Petrol isn't really that big an issue for me as my car is very fuel efficient and I usually only have to fill the tank every two weeks, which is good! I don't mind paying for my car either as it means so much to me to be able to drive when ever and where ever I want.

Also, I have a great secret as to how I keep track on all my spending! My Lilly Pulitzer planner has been helping me huge amounts!! I like to put under every day just how much I have spent so I can then add up how much I have spent that week! Its a great thing to have a diary and to keep track of everything! I have found this extremely helpful and it also makes me more cautious of what I have bought, as I would rather be writing in as small a figure as possible per day! So I am very pleased to have it! If you want to have a wee look at my review on my planner then click here!

I have also been able to put money into my bank account, which has meant saving more too, as we keep a big jar of change in my house that when its full, I'm allowed to keep  the money! SO this has been a bonus for me this month! But it does take a long time counting it out into the little bags in order to take it to the bank! Although this is a very small amount of time to pay in regards as to what your getting out of it!! So I usually enjoy doing it, while watching tv! I hope the jar fills up again quickly!! Hehe!

Is anyone else doing a ban on there spending?! Let me know how you are getting along! I know next month there will be much more savings going on!! Thanks for reading!

I Could Win Gold!

Hi girls!

I am having Olympics withdrawal symptoms! Robert and I have been so into it, if you couldn't tell!! So now we are missing it! The Closing Ceremony was just awesome!! I loved every moment of it! From The Spice Girls (how amazing were they!? I felt like a little girl again!!!) to the hilarious "Always Look On the Bright Side Of Life" sketch, which I kept whistling away too! It really was a great show and can I just say, how amazing was Jessie J's voice! Man I wish I could sing like her!! Any way just to reminisce on the Olympics, here are the 5 tickets to my events!

So onto the real reason of this post! Quite a few people did posts on what I'm doing today.... In Rio 2016, I could win a gold medal!! Well if these events were in the Olympics....

  • Driving the M77 motorway! I drive this road at least twice a day, 7 days a week! Some people are scared of motorways and chose instead to go on their own "local roads"... well this is basically my local road, everywhere I go is along this road! I drive this road every time I go to either of my works and back home again. It would not be unusual for me to be on this road six times in one day... Yea I know! So I must be the best at driving it because I know it so well! I know all its quirks and how fast I can drive it! Therefore if they somehow move this motorway or replicate it in Rio then I would definitely win the Gold medal! Thank you very much!

  • Talking baby talk to cats! I seriously do not stop talking baby talk to my cats! As soon as I am in the house, I start and don't stop again until I leave the house! I just cannot resist my furbabies cuteness, so it just leads to blabbing on and on about a load of rubbish and basically telling them how cute they are!! I just love them! What can I say! So I would definitely win gold on this matter and it wouldn't need to be my cats receiving it! I could do it to pretty much any animal! Here is a photo of my kitties both wanting their tummies rubbed!! Warning!! Cute factor alert ahead!!

  • Walking in high heels! I don't wear heels very often, but when I do I love it! I think an event wearing heels, would be fab!! Ever since the first time I wore a proper pair of heels, I have never complained of sore feet and I never found it hard to walk in them! It has just come naturally! I can run, jump, skip, hop or anything else you want in heels! I don't know whether its because when I was younger when I was just in the house I would walk around on my tip toes! I always buy shoes with super skinny heels on them, just because I  like the way they look, which I guess are supposedly harder to walk in than wider heels! So yea I would win gold in that event!! Hehe! For this event I would wear these heels (which I could never afford, but are just AMAZING!!):
Yea... Louboutins!

  • Drinking Diet Coke! Yup its true, I drink a load of the stuff! It probably would not be the most healthiest event and afterwards the "athletes" taking part would probably be left with no teeth. But yea I would probably win gold as i could just keep drinking! Hehe! Although... I think I would get silver in this event as if Robert were taking part then he would definitely win the gold!
So those would be my events and I guess if I was horse riding at the moment I could definitely win gold in the Equestrian! As I am not riding at the moment, then I guess that can be given to some one else! I really miss it though! Have you got any events that you think you could win gold in?!

What was in My Olympics Make Up Bag? with FOTDs!

Hi girls! I thought it would be fun to do a what's in my travel make up bag post! Also I will do four FOTD's as I was a way for three days and an "extra day", so I thought it would be good to show you what I used when I was away! These FOTDs will obviously correspond to My Olympics Day posts! So here is the make up bag I took:

I picked it up from Accessorize a while ago and its a great little make up bag if your going away for a few days. It has 2 compartments, which is very handy!

One compartment has space to keep brushes too and for such a small make up bag, I thought this was fab! The top brush I have in there is, just a cheapy Cosmopolitan eye shadow brush. The brush below that is a Body Shop brush, which is also an eye shadow brush, which I use for lining and the outer corner of my eyes. I also have some large cotton pads, which I use with my cleanser to take my make up off at night! There will be a review of that coming soon...

Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara mini
L'Oreal Colour Appeal eye shadow in Metal Plum
Rimmel blush in Autumn Catwalk
Benefit Instant Brow Pencil in light
Benefit Lemon Aid eye primer
Maybelline Silk Glam By Eye Studio eye shadows in Pink Drama

Benefit Dandelion blush
Garnier Anti Dark Circles concealer
Maybelline One By One Volume Express mascara
The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes palette 06
Garnier BB Cream

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous
Topshop Lips in Innocent
L'Oreal Glam Shine Miss Candy in Pink Treat
Revlon Lip Butter in Creme Brulee
Benefit Ultra Plush Dandelion lip gloss

Ok so this is what I took! Oh and I also obviously took a face primer, which was my Benefit That Gal primer, but it sadly ran out during the trip and I was silly enough to throw it out rather than bringing it home to put in my photos!! Silly Jen! I have since bought a new primer, which I will do a review on, so keep your eyes peeled for that too! So now onto the FOTD's! I just thought this would be a fun way to show you what I used when I went away!

Day 1:

Benefit That Gal primer
Garnier BB Cream
Garnier Anti Dark Circles
Benefit Lemon Aid
Benefit Instant Brow Pencil
Benefit Dandelion
Maybelline Silk Glam eye shadows, light pink and dark pink
Benefit Bad Gal Lash
Benefit Dandelion lip gloss

Day 2:

Benefit That Gal primer
Garnier BB Cream
Garnier Anti Dark Circles
Benefit Lemon Aid
Benefit Instant Brow Pencil
Benefit Dandelion
Body Shop Shimmer Cubes, marshmallow, honeycomb and choc chip
Revlon Lip Butter in Creme Brulee
L'Oreal Glam Shine Miss Candy in Pink Treat

 Day 3:

Garnier BB Cream
Garnier Anti Dark Circles
Benefit Lemon Aid
Benefit Instant Brow Pencil
Topshop Lips Innocent

Extra Day:

Garneir BB Cream
Garnier Anti Dark Circles
Benefit Lemon Aid
Benefit Instant Brow Pencil
Benefit Dandelion
Topshop Lips Innocent
Accessorize Diamond Sparkle lip gloss in Temptation (not pictured above)

And that was my four days! On Day 3, we kinda slept in a wee bitty, so hence the lesser amount of make up! Although we still got to our event in plenty time! Hehe! That is me for the Olympic posts sadly! I cannot believe it is going to end tomorrow! Although I cannot wait to watch the Closing Ceremony, I wonder what it will be like!? Anybody got any ideas? Hope you enjoyed reading this post!

Friday's Letters #8

Hi girls, so its Friday again! These weeks are going soo fast!! As usual i'm doing the link up with Ashley, find her great blog here!

Dear Random Wandering Dog, why do you do this to me?! I see you outside the shop at my lunchtime and your just wandering around, so I sit and wait to see if your owner comes out of a shop. Nop, you just wander away up the road. So I go round the corner and park and walk down to see if I can catch you, because you have a collar on and are a really handsome cream German Shepard, so you must be lost! But no you still wander away from me and change your course!! I now feel really guilty in case something bad happens to you or you get run over! I was going to phone the Scottish SPCA (an animal charity), but now I would have no idea where you are, as I am now back in work! I'm sorry that I couldn't help you, but I was whistling for you and you still didn't hear or see me. I hope your ok and your owner has found you! Dear Robert, I hope you having a fantastic time down in Weymouth, watching the Sailing event! I can't believe this is your 7th (!!!) Olympic event! I really do feel for your bank balance! Hehe!  I hope the weather is good! Dear Mum and Dad, I hope you have a great time down in the Olympic Stadium tomorrow!!! Haha, mum you were so funny and excited leaving the house, stating that you felt like a little kid!! Haha and dad don't get lost, I have told you how to get to your hotel so many times!! You must have it in your head memorised by now! Oh and also how is everybody going to Olympic events now?! Haha, although I really shouldn't complain, I have had my fill with 5 events! Oh and mum, try not to drive dad too demented by dragging him round Westfield for too long! Dear Friday Night, I'm going to have a nice relaxing night, with no one in the house to disturb me! Just me and my little cats! Haha, crazy cat lady anyone? Dear Sunshine, you are great and you make everything seem so bright and happy! Yay for a warm couple of days!! Dear Spending Ban, I think going to London has been very bad, for you! What a naughty holiday! I shall be very very good, to try and make it back up! Although I really need to buy uniform for the shop I work in, but its ok I'm allowed to aren't I?! Dear Ashley, thank you for creating such an awesome link up!! its great that so many people keep coming back to write their letters! You have created a brilliant way to read new blogs! Thanks again, you are fab!!

My Extra Olympics Day!!

Hi girls! So if you read my other Olympic posts, then you will know that Robert decided to go and buy cycling tickets on Monday night... for the Tuesday morning! Haha, yes he is that mad, but now he has been banned from the Olympic tickets site! Hehe, although I am actually very pleased he did buy them, because we got to see the incredible Chris Hoy!

Ok so we left the house just after midnight on Monday and Robert drove through the night (or morning I guess? I never know what you should put for those 1 to 5am hours!). I was quite cheeky and slept most of the way down, but Robert had had a long lie on the Monday anyway, where as I had went to work! So I was allowed! Hehe. Anyway we arrived at Luton Parkway at 5.30am. Robert and I had wee nap and the went and got changed and ready for our day ahead! We got our train around 8 and then headed got the Javelin train when we arrived at St Pancras! We were really excited to be back in the Olympic Park and it never really felt like we had been  back home at all! Our event started at 10, so sadly we didn't get to have a McDonalds breakfast, like we had wanted, because the queues were huge! So we just got some snacky bits and headed over to the Velodrome!!

I love the pretty meadow flowers that were planted all over the park! Makes the place look more bright and colourful!

Ok girls! This is the worlds largest McDonalds!!! It doesn't actually look that big in this photo, but let me assure you it is humongous!!! This is probably able to do over 350 covers in one hour! Scariness! Its also only staying there during the Olympics, after the Paralympic games it will be taken down, after only around 3 months of being finished!

Yay to the Velodrome! We were just so excited to get into our seats, when we got to them, we realised we were in the front row!!! Eeeep! We were just sitting along from the start/finish line! It was awesome!! The Velodrome is all air tight and you have to wait for the inner doors to close before you can get in through the outer doors and vice versa. This is so that there will be no wind moving through the building and so they can keep the temperature at exactly 28 degrees Centigrade. So it was quite warm in there, for the athletes to keep their muscles warm I presume!

I got some great shots of Chris Hoy and Laura Trott who were the British entries for these races! Pictures below! oh and look out for the photo of Chris Hoy looking totally like Robocop!!! Quite funny!

Ahhh, it was a fun day! The Velodrome is such an amazing venue. When the cyclists were going round the track the crowd cheered along as they passed them! The noise was amazing circling round and round with the athletes! I love the picture below. You can see Park Live, the Olympic Stadium, the Orbit and the Aquatics Centre!

Hoodie - New Look
Scarf - River Island
Tshirt - Gilly Hicks
Bag - Paul's Boutique
Jeans - River Island
Shoes - Accessorize

The above picture I just added in because  think its really cool! It is the Coca Cola Beat Box. Basically all the sponsors have their own exciting stand to promote their product in the Olympic Park and this is Coca Cola's. We didn't actually take part in it as there was quite a queue and by this time we were desperately hungry for a McDonalds, which we eventually got! Haha so healthy! I love the design as I think it looks like an Olympic flame, but I guess that was the point! Apparently though it is a musical instrument, and you create music when you go into the structure! But any whoo!! We left the Olympic Park and then travelled back home!

A great time was had and sadly this will be my last post of exciting Olympic events! Hope you enjoyed reading them!

My Olympics Day 3!

Hi!! So I have got some news... While you are reading this, I will be back at Olympic Park to watch the Cycling!! Haha, we must be completely mad!! We just got back Saturday night and we are back on Tuesday morning!! Any way you will hear about what happens tomorrow in a different post, for now I will be telling you about Saturday!!

So the Show Jumping was the reason we were going to the Olympics in the first place, as Robert had got me them for Christmas last year, as I absolutely adore horses and riding! I was super excited to go and see people who I had watched on telly to see them in the flesh and to see these absolutely first class horses jumping amazing jumps! This event was at Greenwich Park, which is South London, so we had to get a couple of trains to get there. Greenwich is a beautiful place, which we weren't expecting and the park is just amazing, despite the cloudy weather and all the Olympic barriers and what not! I must have taken about 300 photos of just the horses jumping.... yup it was awesome! Now obviously I'm not going to show you all of them, but I will show you a few, just cause its my blog and hey on here is what I love!! Hehe, also the course was amazing! Some tight corners and some flat out gallops in this course, quite complicated and also very high!

Ok so that seems like a nice amount of photos! Hehe I could just add more and more because I think they all look amazing! I just think horse are amazing creatures, when you watch it, you can see how the relationship between the horse and rider works. Like at one point you could see the rider was nervous and the horse hesitated and didn't jump the jump because he knew the rider wasn't sure! It was just an amazing experience!! Oh and also our British team won Gold today!! Woohoo!!

Hmm... Strange look on my face here! I promise I was enjoying it!! Hehe, even if it was rainy and windy!

Hoodie - New Look
Scarf - River Island
Tshirt - New Look
Jeans - Hollister

Any way after the show jumping, we were mad and headed back to Westfield shopping centre, because I never got to have a look around the day before! We went up to the top floor and found Pinkberry!!!! I have heard so much about this through FleurDeForce and her videos, so I knew I had to try it! Here was my creation:

It was super yummy!! Even Robert liked his chocolate one! He thought it was ice cream, hehe!!! Then I spotted some thing very exciting across from Pinkberry.... Gilly Hicks!!! Ahhhhhhh, I ate my yoghurt extremely fast just so I could get over and into the shop! Now I love Hollister and Abercrombie and Fitch, so to see another sister store, I was like I must go in!!! I did buy a few things so keep an eye out for a little haul!! Teehee!

Then we went down to see the Liberty store, which just has the most beautiful scarves!!! I so love my scarves, but as much as I do I will not be paying £95 for one! Teehee, also love the guards outside the shop!! Its actually really tiny! I thought it would have been a bigger store than that seeing as the main Liberty is so huge!!

We had a brilliant day and left Westfield to go back to the hotel and pick up our bags and went back to Luton to get the car!! We got home just after 12am, which was a fast drive all the way back up to Glasgow! We had an amazing holiday and it was well worth all the craziness of trying to get tickets! I just cannot believe that when you read this I will have been to another event! I hope we will have got another gold!! Hehe!
